Burnt Bridge affects 2018 season

For those not following our facebook page you may not have heard that a recent fire at Mt Surprise has had a big impact on our 2018 schedule for the last few weeks of the year.

The Savannahlander itself has not been affected, however the bridge at Elizabeth Creek just before Mt Surprise was almost completely destroyed.

Our schedule continued through to the end of the year, with the last 5 weeks being affected. We managed to work up a combination Bus / Rail tour for the good people who travelled immediately after the fire, with a short service to Almaden and back for the remaining 4 weeks of the year.

The great news is that the good people at Queensland Rail are already on the case and are already in the process of rebuilding the bridge.  We expect a full recovery and things will be in tip-top shape for the 2019 season.
